is it legal to sell celebrity’s photos?

i took some amazing photos at a concert and would like to sell it online. Is it legal to do so? Because I saw on the news this one celebrity went and sue that one person who was selling of that celebrity online?

    I am guessing that it is legal. Just take a look at the paparazzi and all of the celeb magazines. Or at least if they are in a public place and not in the privacy of their own home.

    good question. I would say you could do it because as a photographer you could call it your intellectual property. Just bear in mind that celebrities have enough money to hire a great team of lawyers.

    Normally you would have a valid copyright claim to any photo you personally took. Your problem here, however, is that you took a picture of the band’s performance. The band holds the copyright to their original performance. You violated their copyright by taking the photos without their permission.
    If you get a picture of them walking down the street, it’s a different story.

    I don’t see how it could be illegal. It’s what press photographers do isn’t it… they take photos and sell them.
